Silly Mommy!

Sophie: Hello blog kitty friends. Tyler said it's ok if I blogged on his blog today. I wanted to tell you how silly crazy my mommy is. She came home yesterday and sat down in front of me on the big bed. She then opened up a baggie of cooked chicken that just didn't excite me and then started hollering my name. At first she was nice and sweet about calling me. She called, "Sophie, Sophina, I have something for you..." but I wasn't impressed with the chicken so I just stared at her. Then she started yelling at me for about 5 minutes straight. I was right behind her, so I started cracking up inside. Silly Mommy. Didn't she see me when she sat down on the bed? I never let on where I was which I guess made her panic because I always come when I'm called. The only thing was, I was already there so I didn't have to come. When she finally turned around and saw me. I smiled sweety at her. At first I told her I wouldn't tell anyone how silly she is, but this morning I decided I had to let the kitties how there know just how wacky my mom can be. Do any of you have parents that crack you up? If so, please tell me what they did. I love a good smile.

9 Lives, I'm Your Cat!

Jake: I so sorry that my mom had to use her lousy camera phone to take such a cute picture of me. The real camera is always in the wrong place she trys to explain to me. I don't care cuz you can still see how cute, cute, cute I am. Right blog friends, aren't I the cutest cat on around this blog. It's okay to say the truth. Tyler's just too old to be cute, Cookie's too grumpy and well Sophie's the most fluffy and beautiful, but not cute at all. I'm the cutest. It's me. Even just watching me, makes me cuter. When I jumped into the box I made my mom giggle. I think it's a combo of my handsome ginger furs along with my huge whisker humps and my mischevious grin that gives me the edge. And look how I thought to chomp down on the box, cute, right? I think I'm headed for stardom. I wonder if that Moris dude cat that my mom told me about is ready to be replaced by a cuter more youthful ginger boy?

C'mon, I'm cuter than him, right people? Mom, I think you better get me an agent.

Happy New Year!

Tyler:I hope all the kitties in the blogosphere had awesome Christmice with their families. We've been silently visiting some of your blogs. It looks like so many of you had wonderful holidays. We love each and every one of you. All of my sisters, my brother and I want to wish you a happy and healthy new year.

Sophie: Hi kitties and woofies, goats and rodents too! I learned a new trick. I'm tired of being the meekest little kitty around. So when some kitty annoys me, I give him a bop on the head. At first they were all so surprised to see me voice my opinion that they just gave me whatever I wanted. Today, Jakie, the Tangerine Pest, hit me back. I saw on an episode of Jersey Shore that boys aren't suppose to hit girls. On the tv show the cops came and took the boy away. When I saw that, I just knew that it was the answer to all of my Tangerine Pest problems (I like the way Parker calls Rudy the "Orange Menace", so mommy showed me how to use a thesaurus to come up with my new name for my brother). But when I asked Mommy to call 911 and report Jake.... she refused. She said she would miss him too much and that maybe I could come up with a less drastic solution.

Then of course there's the big sister version of the Tangerine Pest, Cookie, or as I now call her the Drabby Crabby One. After I bop her she now hisses. So I just bop her again for hissing at me. It's all quite a bit of fun.

And then there's Tyler. I NEVER bop Ty. He's the best brother ever. I groom him and kiss him whenever he'll let me. I adore that brother of mine.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you that Mommy left the camera at my aunt Beth's house, a two hour drive from here. It'll be a bit of time before we can post new pics. Yeah! Mr. Flashy's not coming around here for quite a while!!

Jake: Mom?
Mom: Yes, Jake?
Jake: I love Tyler, lots.
Mom: I can tell, Sweetheart.
Jake: And Mom?
Mom: Mm, hm?
Jake: I love you too.
Mom: Ahhhhhh, such a sweetie.
Jake: NOW, can I have those Temptations?

Tyler in the Morning

Hi Friends,
Finally mom fixed the camera. She decides to wake me up at 3:30 am for the photo shoot. She's been sleeping through the whole weekend because she's sick with a wickedly sore throat. So now she's awake and raring to go. This is my best black panther "Good Morning" look so early in the am, folks. I hope your Sunday is as lazy as can be.

Jake: The strangest thing happened this morning. I was lying in the Millie bed closest to mom when my crabby sister who hates me came by. I ignored her by looking the other way. The next thing I know the girl is curled up laying beside and atop of me. You should have seen Mom's mouth drop. I cried out, "What the heck!" and then I shot out of there as quick as my legs could get me out of there. I couldn't wait for her to turn around and start spitting in my face. As soon as I moved, she did start growling and complaining. Typical Cookie.

Mom: I saw the whole thing unfold, Jake. You're right I was shocked. That dear crabby growler of mine never has a kind word for you and the next thing you know she wants to cuddle. She must have been extremely cold. But if the two of you were to come to some sort of agreement, I would be the happiest cat mom around.

Cookie: Listen Mom, I wanted the bed. I didn't want to be friendly. I knew that if I just pretended he was invisible he would become so.. It's that simple. So don't think I'm going to start liking that orange annoyance. It won't happen, ever.

Cookie: I'm here to do the tattling today. First of all, our mom LEFT us on Thanksgiving day and hasn't come back yet. I knew this was going to happen when I saw the suitcase come out and saw the amount of clothes she was packing. But then I saw something really suspicious. She packed a brand new Furminator brush too. That could only mean one thing. She's two timing us. Now, I was able to teleport over to our auntie's house because that's where she told us she was going. I spied on mom from atop the tall cabinets that auntie has at her house. I saw my mom sweet talking my two tuxie cousins. She gave them treats off of her own plate. Does she do that at home with us? Noooooo, it's against the rules. She went to all this trouble making a kitty toy out of shoe string and a Lego man. With us, it's store bought toys only. I ever heard her call the kitties to her at bedtime so they would sleep with her. Chase slept right next to her and Chris slept in between her calves. When I do that, it's "Please move over Cookie, I gotta turn over."lllllllll

So when she gets back, she's gonna hear it from all of us. Because I'm letting all of my brothers and my little sister know exactly what she's been up to. We'll see who wants to sleep with her after they know what's been going on.

Oh, guess what? Mom finally brought the camera home from work. She tried uploading beautiful pictures of us into her laptop and found out that the disk is damaged. So she needs to buy a new one. Which she STILL hasn't done. Now if she had taken the camera to our cousins house, I'm sure she would have bought the disk already.

What! Did my listening ears just hear that mom's on her way home?Woohoo! Oh I mean who cares? ::yawn:: I'll just curl up here on the couch by the front door.

I hope all you kitties out there how wonderful Saturday catnaps.

Mom and the Bottle

Tyler: I'm sooooo mad at my mom!!!! She squirted me with WATER on my butt!!! Why did she spray me with the liquid punishment in a bottle? For no good reason! That's why!
The Mom: Tyler, tell the truth please.
Tyler: The truth is that I went up to my uppity sister Cookie and gave her an "I love you tap" cuz even though she's a pain, it is the season for love and good cheer.
The Mom: Tyler tell the truth please.
So my love tap was a LITTLE harsh.
Tyler. Tell...
Ok, so I hit her as hard as I possibly could.
Because...
She looked too happy all snuggled up in MY Millie bed.
Your Millie b-?
In A Mille bed. I know, I know, there was another empty Millie bed right next to the one she was using. But, I'M the alpha cat, and she just looked too darn happy in THAT Millie bed.
Tyler, I thought I raised you to be-
A loving alpha cat? Ok, sorry mom. I'm gonna just go and curl up in the other Millie bed.
Good idea.

The Box

Feast your eyes on an exact replica of the object that has upset what little balance of peace that was maintained among us catfolk here at Tyler's Tattles. It's called a Kong Kickaroo. Mom ordered a new Millie bed from the Siamese Rescue Store and though in the kickaroo as an afterthought. Well, today mom opens the box, places the Millie bed on top of her own bed. Two seconds later Cookie jumps into it. (She can still be found curled up there with no sense of remorse for being a bed monopolizer.) Next mom tosses the kikaroo to docile little Sophie. Well, when I politely asked her if I could have a turn she bopped me on the head WITH claws. Next thing I know she's whapping me for merely reminding her that I'm the alpha cat around here and it was an oversight on mom's part not to hand the toy to me first. I did what I do best and tattled to mom that Sophie was stoned on the primo nip that's in that toy and she better act fast before both Jake and I give her a lesson on what happens to little sisters that whap before they think and don't share the new Kickaroo with her brothers.

Jake here: I think I need a translator. Last night mommy was standing in the family room and I walked up to her and said, "Aaahhhww." She bent down PICKED ME UP and tried to fling me across her shoulder while saying, "Oh Jakie, so you want me to pick you up?" I tensed my body up in a ball and corrected her, "Eeeeeeeeeaaaahhhhhhhwwwwww." I even looked her straight in the eye to let her know I was serious. Finally she put me back on the floor where I belonged, thank goodness. And I repeated my original command of, "Aaahhww," she reached down and scratched my back the way I like it. Now why didn't she just do that in the first place? Does anyone know of a good translator of kitty to English? I think my mom may need some help.

Simple Saturday

Hey everyone! Thanks for the birthday wishes. The mom even forgot it was my birthday. She made it up to me though with some super duper skritches and some flaked tuna too. Of course, I had to share with all my other sibs.

That Jake is such a hog. He sticks his paw right into the jar of flaked tuna and showers the bed with a gazillion tiny pieces. He only eats the big chunks before he's after the jar again trying to get his wily little paw in there again. Jake's been joining us for naps on the bed more and more. This morning when mom was working on her laptop she felt a cat cuddle up between her knees. She assumed it was Cookie because the only other cat that rests there is Sophie and she could see her elsewhere in the room. Hours later she looked down surprised to see Jake. He's getting bolder and bolder with his sleeping arrangements. It's good to have him with the rest of us. Cookie still tries to scare Sophie and especially Jake away from mom, but they're learning to ignore her, much to Cookie's consternation.

Mom has been leaving the camera at work where she needs it. She's going to try to remember to bring it home so we can display our handsome faces.

Jake here: I've decided to shock my momma by almost cuddling with her. A few weeks back when she was home in bed sick I actually lay down with her for more than a whole minute. Now I lie on the bed and snuggle with Tyler. Sometimes I do touch momma at the same time, but I never stay there for more than a few minutes. I like to keep her guessing. All the other kitties snuggle with her. I just have not been into that. Now if she were to feed me some chicken while I'm snuggling, I may stick around a little longer.

Does mom remember how to do this?

Boy have we missed all of our cat blogger friends. We've been lurking around a bit to check on the kitties everywhere. Mom and all of us are devestated to read about how many of our friends have recently crossed the Bridge. Of course the loss of our sister Kali, is still an unhealed wound that we thought was actually over and done with. But mom has burst into a waterfall missing her and thinking about all the other moms and dads out there having to deal with their pet's loss. Does the pain ever go away?

By the way, we are fine. I'm still the alpha cat though Jake wants to challenge me for it. Sophie is still my little groupie. She wants to curl up next to me all the time. Sometimes I just have to get away from her. Cookie is still the grumpy one and I can be naughty and chase her away from mom.

Mom is working at a new school. She teaches first and second grade now. She spends too much of her time there. She's been home with the flu for the past three days so that may convince her to take better care of herself.
Hugs and purrs to everyone! I'm really going to try to join in again. We miss you all, we really do.

Thursday, February 26, 2009

So mommy bought us one of those Breeze litter boxes. What a waste of money. Jake is the only one who'll use it and he only uses it to pee. Mom praises him like crazy so sometimes he just goes in there to here her his name said with "...oh what a GOOD boy you ARE..." blah blah, blah. Hey, I walked on the litter and so did Sophie that's stuff is killer on a cat's special toesies. I don't know how you cats in the blogosphere that like that Breeze-thingy stand for the harsh feel of the litter on the feet. So I'm sticking with the traditional litter box filled with my soft clumping litter. Sorry mom. You know that I don't like changes in my routine. You know that I don't care what other moms and dads write about their kitties' experiences with their Breeze boxes. So I think you need to donate the green thing to the other kitties who like it.

Oh Tyler, I haven't given up yet. I've just begun the campaign to convince you all to give it a go.

Mom, mom, mom, don't you remember you told me my middle name is Stubborn?

Yes, but I didn't tell you we have the same middle name.

We Won an Award!!

We were thrilled to receive this award from the girls at Mark's Mews. Since we have barely been around the internets lately, it's super great to get an award that calls us friends. We LOVES making new friends. We just read that there are rules that go with the award and we better post them too or who knows what might happen to our blog. Here they are:

“LOVE YA” award-winner… These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

We want to pass on the award to the following friends:

Grr, Midnight and Cocoa (along with three other newly adopted brothers and sister).

No Pics

Tyler: I've got good news and some bad news too. The good stuff is that my mom is home for a whole 9 days in a row. She gets a week off in February. That means extra snuggling time for us. The bad news is that she left her camera at work and it's been forever since she showed our blogging friends our pictures. For all you know a giant woofie came in and ate us all for breakfast and it's just my mom typing up these words in our absence. Mom can you think of any way to prove to our blogging friends that we're still alive and not in the bottom of some woofie's stomach.

Mom: Um, I could give them my word that you're still here eating, sleeping, shedding and stinking up the litter boxes.

Tyler: I just don't know if that's good enough, Mom. My friends aren't that gullible. They need proof, like pictures. I think you're going to have to drive into work and just pick up that camera.

Mom: I think they'll trust me.

Tyler: I know, you can fake it by using old pictures of us.

Mom: Ty, I'm going to go take a nap. Are you coming?

Tyler: What about my pics?

Mom: Zzzzzzzzz

Mmmm, Yummm

This is Jake here: I had the most wonderful food experience last night.

"Mom, what was that yummy stuff called?"

"Whipped cream."

"And when do I get some more?" asked Jake.

"If you're a very good boy and stop attacking Cookie when she's not looking...I might get you some..."

"Then I might just keep on surprising Cookie. She likes it when I jump on her. It keeps her  young at heart."

"Hmm, is that why she begs me to let another family adopt you?

"Ha, ha, that Cookie is such a funny girl," claims Jake.
