New Smells on Mancat Monday

Oh, wow, this is just the most wonderful scent a mancat could ever smell. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I just MUST put the bitey on this toy... What's that? Nip...you say? Mencat just LOVE this nip stuff.

Ahhhhhhh, this is Wonderful! I hope ALL my blog friends get toys filled with this stuff. What??? Not every cat enjoys this smell? What a shame. Have a wonderful Mancat Monday even if you are a Ladycat.

Mommy You Should Know Better

No, I do not WANT you to touch me. Mommy, My long pretty furs are not for your fingers to run through. Every day I jump up on your bed so that you can admire me and talk sweet talk to me. I do NOT jump up here so that you will reach out and touch me. Every day I have to jump away after you try to pet me. When will you learn?

Mommy: Sophie, Honey, honestly I forget. I've never had a cat with such floofy fur before nor a cat who didn't want to be touched. I want to honor you and make you feel comfortable, but I can't help it. I think that maybe today will be the day you'll let me caress you. I will try much harder to let you be.

Sophie: That would be much better for me. I like it when you play with me, when you give me yummy treats, clean out the dirty litter box and feed me that stinky stuff. I just don't want you to touch me. I just want my kitty sister and brothers to groom me. I trust them and they know how to clean me just the way I like.

Mommy: Well, if you ever want me to scritch or scratch I'll be here waiting. I just want so much to pet your floofiness.

Sophie: I know Mommy. My furs are quite beautiful. I take very good care of them. Who knows someday maybe...

Mommy: At least I have hope, You Silly Girl.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just jumped on momma's lap and I had to dig my rear claws into her leg because not only was she allowing Kali to sit in her chair but a minute ago she was making sweet googly noises at her. That is not to be tolerated. Next, I stretched out on top of her hands while they were on the keyboard. This is how I tell her to STOP writing. He, he, he now Kali is beating mom's face with her tail. She has an awesome tail action. When ever she's the slight bit annoyed she beats her tail back and forth like a metronome. It actually causes my mom pain as it swipes across her face.

Once again, we've been away forever. Mom took the camera to work again and doesn't have any new pictures for me to share. (Not even of the beautiful new Gizzy quilt.) I did insist on coming on to wish all my blog friends from the USA a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. She has tomorrow off from her tiny people at her work. She's going to spend tomorrow snuggling with us while doing a bit of cooking. Early, early Thursday morning she will drive to the San Joaquin Valley where her father and stepmother live and also her baby sister's family live. Most of her siblings will gather to celebrate. Her brother who lives in Taiwan and her other brother who lives in Monterey, CA won't make it. My uncle Tom, the brother who lives in the same city as Adan does doesn't come home very often at all. Uncle Richard stays home to spend the holiday with his family in Monterey.

I read somewhere that Tuesdays now can be Tattle day and since this is my specialty I have a tattle about my mom's family. Mommy's brother Richard's wife doesn't like my grandpa and my grandpa doesn't like his wife so Uncle Richard just comes on Friday to help keep the peace. My mom thinks it's all quite sad that the her sister-in-law insists on staying away. Grandpa is getting on in his years, it would be wonderful to have more of the family together on such a day. But if this is how it has to be, then mommy will simply enjoy seeing her brother on Friday and spend Thursday enjoying the rest of the family that IS there.

We all here hope that your holiday is just the best that can be! May each kitty in the US get a huge turkey or ham dinner.
Blessings from, Tyler, Kali, Cookie, Jake and Sophie

Look What Will Be in our Mailbox Soon!!!

Milly's mom contacted us to let us know that Kali will be receiving her quilt soon. Isn't it BEAUTIFUL?!? It's supposed to be Kali's because mom wanted to honor her at 18, being the oldest amongst us.

I don't blog much about her because she is well... a pain. She doesn't accept my authority. She'll commander mom's lap on a whim. I have organized rest times, but when Kali jumps up, she just bats me off. Mom always asks me to be respectful because of her age. She even tries to boss mom around. She's very picky about where she may be touched. If she's to be brushed she expects constant treats. If the treats slow down she flicks her tail and then puts the bitey on mom's hand. Mom even gives her excuses. Mom adopted Kali when she lived in an apartment that didn't allow cats. Well, they did, but before mom declared Kali, they changed the rules. Then when they found out mom had Kali they insisted she be declawed. Well, mom went had the procedure done without researching it. Older and wiser, mom would now just move, if she were ever in a similar situation. She feels very terribly guilty for maiming my big sister. Because of that guilt, Kali gets away with EVERYTHING! Mom hopes that anyone in her situation would also move. As much trouble or hassle as it seems to be, it is far better to be inconvienced than to allow your loved one be mutilated. Don't allow yourself to make the mistake she made. It will haunt you.

We'll see how good my big sis will be at sharing her Gizzy quilt. It's so pretty! I want to be first! I kinda hope Kali doesn't share so I can lobby my mom for my own quilt. With my black furs, I've been told that I look good with ANY color, but I want mancat colors! Does anyone know what mancat colors are? Mom tells me that I'm behind the times, that there isn't such a thing as "mancat" colors. I think she says that cuz she's a girl and she doesn't know any better. Any suggestions on what colors should be on my Gizzy quilt?

Thank you!
Tyler

Mom is Home Today

Mom was home sick today with the tummy flu. She lied in bed all day. We took turns keeping her company. She like having company when she's not feeling well. Sophie continues to thrive. More later when mom's better.

Yikes!!! We just had a 5.6 earthquake in San Jose. I and my brother and sister went crazily running around the house during the shaking. Mom just kept on telling us it would be okay. She didn't even get up out of her chair or stop watching the tv! We're all in hiding now.

Mom here, that was a strong one. I haven't felt anything that strong since Loma Prieta in 1989. I felt helpless to calm the cats as they ran around in fear. I have no idea where any of the poodins are except for Kali, my 18 year old who's asleep on her mat in front of the tv. I hope the aftershocks don't bother us much.

Poor Sophie must really must be dizzy from taking her pain meds and now this shake-up. Speaking of the angel, she's doing well. She won't keep her e-collar on. I don't know exactly where she is, but I think she's under my bed. After I gave her pain meds at 6 pm, she disappeared. It'll be good once she's healed and I won't have to worry so much about her.

Sophie Is Doing Quite Well!

Your prayers worked. I should have had more faith that they would. The doctor commented that she's never had a more stable a patient. Thank you everyone who said a prayer or sent a warm thought. I honestly felt calm this morning, and usually I'm quite a mess.

Everything went well. She's awake and feeling no pain right now. I'm able to get her as soon as 4 pm. They're going to give her a soft e-collar. The V-E-T wants me to keep her away from the other cats for 5 days. Gosh, that would be hard. I would have to keep her with me, for both her and my frame of mind. The other cats won't get as much attention from me with that set up. I'll play it by ear. If she's needing a lot of pain meds and she's groggy, then I'll definately keep them away. Or if they want to hassle her at all, they'll be removed from my bedroom.

Last night, I made them all start fasting at 9 pm. At 2 am I had Jake on top of my bed screamming at me for food. I swear he has a hidden meezer inside him. He can make very annoying demanding meezes. Of course, I'm the sucker mom who obeys nearly his every wish. He keeps to a regular schedule, so I understand why he felt it necessary to tell me that I was neglecting my duties in the middle of the night.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. I'm very very greatful. You all deserve hugs. I'm sure Sophie has some sweet purrs for you all also.
Love Lynn (Tyler, Sophie, Jake, Cookie and Kali's mom)
