No Pics

Tyler: I've got good news and some bad news too. The good stuff is that my mom is home for a whole 9 days in a row. She gets a week off in February. That means extra snuggling time for us. The bad news is that she left her camera at work and it's been forever since she showed our blogging friends our pictures. For all you know a giant woofie came in and ate us all for breakfast and it's just my mom typing up these words in our absence. Mom can you think of any way to prove to our blogging friends that we're still alive and not in the bottom of some woofie's stomach.

Mom: Um, I could give them my word that you're still here eating, sleeping, shedding and stinking up the litter boxes.

Tyler: I just don't know if that's good enough, Mom. My friends aren't that gullible. They need proof, like pictures. I think you're going to have to drive into work and just pick up that camera.

Mom: I think they'll trust me.

Tyler: I know, you can fake it by using old pictures of us.

Mom: Ty, I'm going to go take a nap. Are you coming?

Tyler: What about my pics?

Mom: Zzzzzzzzz

Mmmm, Yummm

This is Jake here: I had the most wonderful food experience last night.

"Mom, what was that yummy stuff called?"

"Whipped cream."

"And when do I get some more?" asked Jake.

"If you're a very good boy and stop attacking Cookie when she's not looking...I might get you some..."

"Then I might just keep on surprising Cookie. She likes it when I jump on her. It keeps her  young at heart."

"Hmm, is that why she begs me to let another family adopt you?

"Ha, ha, that Cookie is such a funny girl," claims Jake.

We are all so very very upset at the loss of Sophie's dear boyfriend, Castor.

He was so young. Please go to his blog and give his mom and brother your love, here at Castor . You will be remembered always Castor. Please give our love to Kali. She is a wise older lady who can watch over you at the Bridge.

Happy New Year Friends! We're all happy and healthy over here in San Jose, CA. Mom has taken a job at a different school in her same school district, but this place is taking up all of her time. It's sucking the life out of her. Mom says she understands that we miss all of our blog friends. She says maybe we could blog once a week instead of just dropping off cold turkey, like.  We all are doing just fine. Jake continues to be mom's challenging "child". He loves to keep us on our toes. He's either peeing on the bed or chewing up the bag of Temptations. I continue to be the "easy" cat. I get along with all others. Cookie, is still a pain in our backsides. She wants to be an only kitty. But surprisingly the last couple of days she's been accepting of even Jake. Sophie has turned into a very loving girl. She has the habit of curling up into mommy's arm at night. If mom ignores her she reaches out with slightly extended claws and taps mom on the lips. Mom then kisses her paw pads and they continue until Sophie falls asleep.
Have a great New Year everyone!

Sophie's a New Girl

Sophie is finally relaxing into a loving little girl. She's turned out to be a little minx with quite a sense of humor. Mom has been wearing a lot of skirts to work lately because of the heat. When mom lies down for a nap, Sophie plays hide and seek under the skirt. The only problem is that sometimes she attacks the delicate parts of mom's legs with her claws. Yikes, mom can howl which makes Sophie that much more pleased.

When mom's in her recliner watching tv at night. Sophie lays back in the crook of mom's left arm with her belly exposed. She looks like a infant baby. If mom doesn't pay her any attention, she whaps her cheek with just a touch of claws showing. Mom will then play, "I'm going to kiss those paws." This was what my little sis wanted all along. Mom is just thrilled becuase for the longest time So has kept a bit of a distance. She has always loved to cuddle with me and a bit with Jake if he's quite enough. She still shies away from mom's open hand when she goes to pet her on the head. Someone hurt that little kitten when she was on the streets before we found her. But those times are over and our happily ever after is beginning to start.

Now if  mom can just get a cuddle out of Jake. He's very loving on his own terms of course. He comes up begging for scritches and then kisses mom's hand til it's red, but he doesn't cuddle. He almost always sleeps away from mom and the other kitties. Sometimes he'll cuddle with me and a bit with Sophie, but he's only slept next to mom one time. She's wondering if he'll ever change. It's probably the brat Cookie that's kept him away even when she's no where near. Because when she has been near mom she sometimes doesn't let the orange boy near. Mom should close her outside the door one night at an experiment. As long as I get to sleep on the bed that would be fine by me.

Cookie: "Mommy, you know how you always are telling me that you want me to feel loved and an equal member of this house?"

Mom: "Mm-huh."

Cookie: "I found a way for me to know that you REALLY love me."

Mom: "Ok..."

Cookie: "I want this, jut for me, NOW. Without the orange thing, NOW.

Happy Fourth Friends!

We will celebrate living in our great nation by dedicating all of today's naps to the wonderful Americans that help other people and animals around the world. Here's hoping that my kitty friends from the US will get a little something left over from the barbecue. Or whatever your particular tummy desires (that goes for all kitties everywhere).
