Tyler was put to sleep yesterday because of kidney failure. i came home from work and he didn't greet me. i called to him over and over again. he finally came out went over to the litter box and cried out. i took him to the emergency vet and the rest you can figure out. it sucks that i didn't see this coming and that he was miserable before he left. he was my best boy and i miss him so much.

It makes us so sad to think that you are blaming yourself. We all think there are things we should have noticed, should have seen, should have done to make our pets' lives better. But you know what? They don't care--they know we're only human. Purrs.

We are so sorry that Tyler is gone. Maw knows how sad you feel. She had Munchkin put to sleep when he was only 5 years old for kidney failure and she felt horrible for a very long time. And Bow was depressed for a good month or two after Munchkin was gone. It is so very hard to do. We are sending you tons of purrs and purrayers and many hugs.

From what we've heard, kidney disease can come on quite suddenly, without any warning. Do not blame yourself. All you did was love and care for sweet Tyler.
I just learned of this from a comment on the CB and KC made a memorial graphic. We will publish it on Sunday's CB.

We are so sorry to hear your sad news. Don't blame yourself for not realising something was wrong. Cat's are so very good at hiding pain and illness until it is too late. We send you comforting purrs and (((hugs))) from our mum (who will always remember your kind words when Eric was so ill).

We are so sorry about Tyler. It is so sad to lose an animal. We are sending lots of purrs and hugs to the Mom. There might not have been any signs that he was sick. It can come on all of a sudden.

We are sorry to hear about Tyler - it is so devastating when you have to take that decision but it was the kindest one.
We are sending comforting purrs and wet nose kisses to you. xxx

We read about this on the Cat Blogosphere and wanted to tell you that we are very sorry to hear about Tyler's passing. Our mom says she hopes you are OK - she has had a similar experience so she knows how difficult it is. Her vet has told her many times that cats can mask symptoms until they are really ill, so sometimes it is difficult to see when they need help.

Purrs and (((hugs))) from us - again we are very sorry to hear this.

I am deeply sorry for your anguish. I think Ty loved you and I am just happy that you were there for him in the end. Us kitties like to hide our suffering until things are gravely apparent and then it is sometimes too late.
He is resting sweetly and watching over you forever.

Our deepest puurrs of love and missing to you. There is not much we can say but that we are thinking of Tyler and you at this sad time.

I know the sadness of calling to a kitty who is losing the ability to reply, but tries to.

We're so sorry about Tyler. You did the best that you could by looking after him, and letting him go when that was best for him. It's not easy to pick the symptoms, and I missed the early signs with Gypsy. However, I'm forever grateful to my friend and neighbour Hilary for picking up on the signs with Gypsy and letting me know taht I should get him checked. Our cats are really good at hiding their pain and discomfort, and we think that you were very brave in helping Tyler so he didn't suffer any more,

Tyler's Tattles - what a wonderful title and blog. I am so sorry for your loss. No loss is easy much less one so unexpected. I hope that Tyler does not stop tattling!

I have a blog where I continue to speak to my lost dog, Starskey. It has been a healing experience and has brought up memories of all of the beloved pets in my life.

I still hold out hope of finding Starskey but in the meantime I have things to share with him through my blog....

Stop by and say Hello and see how I have used my blog to remember the good memories that were made and those that are still being made!

My thoughts are with you - Lee

Man, this reminds me of the two cats that died on me in my youth. The first in a reaction to the anesthesia when he got neutered. The second one had this tumor cyst thing that ended up being filled with maggots. We just tried to keep him comfortable until he passed. I do Kung Fu, but I couldn't focus or meditate without thinking about that cyst. so I remember practicing with a sword and the cutting through the air of the sword, that sound, would help clear my mind for just one second. So that's what I kept doing over and over. I blog about stuff like that on But I haven't thought about the reason why I started doing that sword slicing meditation in the first place for a long time... until I read this post.
